Not the most common chamber music ensemble to come across in the standard programmes, but what gorgeous music it is! For this evening, four amazing soloists join forces to bring to you two jewels from the Romantic repertoire that will send shivers down your spine. A curious anecdote: Wagner and his wife attended the premiere of Brahms’ quartet in Vienna, in 1875. It is speculated that Brahms wanted to utter musically the name of her lifelong friend and unspoken love, Clara (Schumann), with the opening tune of this piece.
