SPEND A MONDAY EVENING IN LONDON!

Django Reinhardt was a groundbreaking and deeply influential jazz guitarist. Born in Belgium in 1910 and raised in France, Reinhardt was of Romani heritage and overcame a life-changing injury  that left two fingers of his left hand severely damaged. Despite this, he developed a unique style of playing that combined a distinctive and virtuosic technique with the expressive melodies of Romani music and the swing rhythms of jazz. Reinhardt co-founded the legendary Quintette du Hot Club de France with violinist Stéphane Grappelli, popularising the genre known as gypsy jazz. His contributions to jazz guitar and innovative improvisations continue to inspire musicians around the world to this day.

Join us as we celebrate Django’s iconic artistry with an evening of hot swing in the cafe’s downstairs bar. Our talented musicians draw inspiration from traditional Django, modern manouche, and even classical greats, creating a special homage to one of jazz’s true legends.
